- Summary
- Early 19th century British commonplace book, about a third of which is occupied by a manuscript copy of the widely-published account of Thomas Clarkson, the abolitionist, describing his meeting with the Emperor of Russia on the subject of slavery. Also in the notebook are eleven poems, most if not all copied from contremporary printed sources. On the first page is written: "Hannah Gregory's / Book"; the paper is watermarked 1813.
- Genre/Form
- Commonplace books.
- Poetry.
- Note
- Pforzheimer Manuscript (MISC 4471); filed under "Gregory" in Miscellaneous Manuscripts file.
