- Eleven New York newspaper and magazine reviews of The Encounter by Simon McBurney, in whose one-man play enacts the role of the photojournalist Loren McIntyre, who spent time in 1969 among the Mayoruna tribe by the Amazon River. He also becomes tribesmen, animals, and insects. The audience sees him turning from one microphone to another crumpling a plastic bag or shaking a water bottle to simulate the noises of the brush or the river. Opened Sept. 29, 2016, at the Golden Theatre, 252 West 45th Street, New York, N.Y.
