Summary

The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey presents Leonora Carrington. Magic Tales, a great retrospective exhibition that explores the different aspects of the British born artist as a surrealist painter, sculptor, writer, draughtswoman, novelist, and scriptwriter. This exhibition covers more than 60 years of career, emphasizing the historical moments that were fundamental in her work, from her beginnings in painting, her life in France and New York, her relationship with animals and her approach to religions; the impact of her work, the circumstances and the contact she had with Mexico, the country she arrived in 1942 and in which she lived almost uninterrupted until her death--MARCO website.
