- Hit tune serenade (1943): "Starting off with the tune "Hot Lips" which identifies the playing of Henry Busse and his orchestra, the musical program takes in 'Linger Awhile,' 'You Were Meant for Me' and 'I'm Through with Love.' Ray Eberle does the vocals with Janelle Johnson and the Taylor Maids. Release date, September 29, 1943." (Motion picture herald, September 18, 1943).
- Pagliacci swings it (1944): "Joe Reichman and his orchestra plays while soloists Gene Austin, Hal Derwin, Carolyn Gray, and the three Tailor Maids sing. Numbers heard are 'I Never Knew,' 'I Am, Are You,' 'I'll Remember April,' "You Gotta Talk Me Into It, Baby,' 'My Blue Heaven,' 'Chop Sticks,' and an arrangement of 'Evening Star' ... " (The exhibitor, New York State edition, May 31, 1944).
- Radio melodies (1943): "Radio listeners who listen to the Bob Hope program are well aware that band leader Skinnay Innis, who went into the service, has been replaced by Stan Kenton. Now comes the opportunity, through this new Name-Band Musical, to not only get a look at Kenton but also to see how his musical aggregation performs. The result is not disappointing ; on the contrary, it will be readily accepted by most swing fans and lovers of popular music. There are several specialties, including Dolly Mitchell, Lillian Cornell, Betty Reilly and the Leo Diamond Harmonica Quintet, the latter an outstanding harmonica act It's all 'in the groove' or, for those not initiated into swing parlance, entertaining. Will Cowan was associate producer." (Showmen's trade review, January 22, 1944).
- Sweet jam (1943): "An especially good band short featuring Jan Garber, his orchestra, The Delta Rhythm Boys, Liz Tilton, an attractive vocalist, and Louis DaPron the dancer. There is sufficient variety to make this more than just a band act and while Garber supplies jam for the jitterbugs the number by Liz Tilton and the quartet piece supply the 'sweet.' DaPron assisted by an attractive partner contributes a pleasant burlesque on ballroom dancing a la Veloz and Yolanda in the rough. This is the ideal short to team up with a heavy dramatic feature. Credit for this film goes to Associate Producer Will Cowan and Vernon Keays, the director. " (Showmen's trade review, October 25, 1943).
- Swing that band (1943): "This is in the nature of a vaude bill. Four Teens Quartet warbles 'Penny Arcade,' Doreen Sisters do a boogie-woogie dance, Gene Williams sings 'When the Lights Go On All All Over the World,' Knight Sisters execute an adagio dance, Helen Young sings 'Daddy.' The orchestra is Johnny Long's." (The film daily, April 12, 1943).
