Summary
Milliner Woody Shelp, who for decades designed hats for stage, film and nightclub performers, discusses his career in his Manhattan studio. He tells how he decided to become a milliner, his move from Detroit to New York City in 1950, and his transition from making hats for daily wear to supplying hats for theatrical and film projects. He also discusses several memorable performers he has worked with, including Ethel Merman, Peggy Lee, Elizabeth Taylor, and Tammy Grimes.
