Summary
The contributions are based on 'A New Fascism,' a symposium held at Fridericianum in conjunction with the exhibition 'Two A.M.' by Loretta Fahrenholz. Fahrenholz's social fiction film reveals a frightening similarity to the present day of surveillance capitalism and re-emerging fascism. And that led us to the symposium we are doing today, where we are asking the following questions: Is there a new fascism emerging? Has fascism reinvented itself? Is the experience and/or fear of disintegration the reason for discriminatory attitudes towards minorities, such as migrants, asylum seekers, Muslims, homosexual people and the homeless? And how can we form a counter-acting power?
