"The edition of this book about the pictorial work of Julio Escámez Carrasco (Chile 1925 - Heredia, Costa Rica 2015), contains three independent books, although they keep a unity, the product of the creative process of the painter. They follow a chronological order." (HKB Translation) Page [7]. Contents includes: a notebook of drawings IMÁGENES FUGITIVAS (Furtive images); ACORDEÓN (Accordeon) comprising 17 ink drawings of extraordinary quality created in the chiaroscuro technique and VISIONES (Visions), the papers found in his personal file, where he writes about this exhibition, that it would be the last he prepared. The work of Escámez has a strong social content, present in his murals, drawings, oil paintings and engravings. His mural painting is strongly influenced by Mexican muralism, where he denounced the spiritual crisis generated by industrialized civilization and the conflicts of modern man.
