Summary
Haydn composed these three symponies, known as Le Matin (morning), Le Midi (noon) and Le Soir (evening) in 1761 while employed by the aristocratic Eszterházy family. Haydn drew on a variety of musical inspirations, including characteristics of symphonies, serenades and concerti grossi in these pieces. This release celebrates the 30th anniversary of renowned baroque ensemble La Petite Band, under the musical direction of Sigiswald Kuijken.
