Contents
Ode for St. Cecilia's Day -- Dido and Aeneas. Overture ; Shake the cloud from off your brow ; Ah! Belinda, I am prest with torment ; Whence could so much virtue spring? ; See, your royal guest appears -- Ciaccona / Francesco Corbetta -- Dido and Aeneas. To the hills and the vales ; Wayward sisters, you that fright ; In our deep vaulted cell ; Thanks to these lonesome vales -- Folias / Gaspar Sanz -- Dido and Aeneas. Oft she visits this lone mountain ; Behold, upon my bending spear ; Come away, fellow sailors ; Destruction's our delight ; Your counsel all is urg'd in vain ; But death, alas, I cannot shun ; Thy hand Belinda ; With drooping wings ye Cupids come.
