Peter Schneider and Tom Schumacher of the Disney Company discuss the origins of the 1994 animated film, and the eventual decision to turn the property into a stage musical. Director Julie Taymor and composer Lebo M describe their respective contributions to the project during the development period. Press agent Chris Boneau and advertising executive Rick Elice talk about the marketing of the show, and its enormous success.
