Summary
Panel discussion exploring the relationship between playwrights, directors, and choreographers. Panelists reveal that they all began their theater careers as actors, and talk about how they came to select their chosen fields. They explore the economics of modern theater, and the pressure to reduce the number of performers in a show. Matalon discusses his experiences directing The tap dance kid on Broadway, and his unhappiness with the ultimate results. Panelists discuss the ways in which directing for the theater and choreography have changed over time, and related matters.
