Tells the fascinating story of how the mother emperor penquin lays only one egg each year in the midst of winter in Antarctica, and immediately passes it on to the father penquin to be hatched in a special place called a brood patch. The father huddles together with other fathers to keep warm. Mothers go off to feed themselves in the ocean and will come back when eggs are hatched to feed her chick.
