Summary
"In this dreamlike chamber opera, an American couple in Switzerland plans to visit the Villa Diodati, a manor on Lake Geneva, but are suddenly swept into the past-- to the mysterious summer night in 1816 when Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley wrote Frankenstein. Mary, her sister Claire, and the notorious romantic poets Percy Shelley and Lord Byron spent a cold Summer indoors in the Villa, fantasizing of ghosts and monsters, while privately facing their inner demons."--Container.
