  • This volume presents 39 Apalai stories recorded on audio tapes by Manfred Rauschert in northern Brazil along the Maicuru and Paru d'Este rivers between 1958 and 1965. He delivered copies of this material to the "Phonogrammarchiv Wien" (Phonoarchive Vienna, Austria) in 1971/72. The stories were transcribed and translated into Portuguese in 2017/18 by Sergio Meira in collaboration with Makuapoty Apalai and Arawaje Apalai, as part of the project "Entrelaçamentos Homem-Sujeito em Sociedades Indigenas." The stories were translated into German by Matthias Pache and Beatrix Hoffmann.
