Summary

Die private Kunstsammlung der Hilti Art Foundation umfasst über 200 Gemälde, Skulpturen und Fotografien feinster Qualität von der klassischen Moderne bis zur Gegenwart. Band 2 des zweiteiligen Sammlungskataloges präsentiert 120 ausgewählte Werke ab der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts bis heute, von Josef Albers bis Thomas Struth. Der in Band 2 gezeigte Teil der Sammlung enthält insbesondere abstrakte und konkrete Kunst ab 1950 bis heute, die sich mit Material, Fläche, Raum und Bewegung, aber auch mit Form, Farbe, Rhythmus und Licht befasst, darunter Werke von Fontana, Klein, Manzoni, Uecker, Mack oder Colombo sowie von Albers, Bill, Fruhtrunk, von Graevenitz, Richter oder Sonnier. Größere Werkkomplexe gibt es von Gottfried Honegger, Gotthard Graubner, Imi Knoebel und Sean Scully. Eine besondere Stellung nehmen Fotografien von Thomas Struth mit ihren auf Zivilisation und Technik sowie auf Natur und Kultur zielenden Inhalten ein.
