- Printmaker and graphic designer Ron Adams was born on June 25, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan. He studied at the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, Manual Arts Adult Night School, Los Angeles City College, the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Mexico; then, in 1968, he designed the poster, murals, and motif for the Mexican Olympic Stadium. From 1969 to 1973, he worked first as assistant printer and then as master printer at Gemini G.E.L. in Los Angeles. Adams served as master printer at Editions Press in San Francisco in 1973 before founding his own printing company, Hand Graphics Ltd., in 1974. In 1985, he chaired the Santa Fe Committee for Low-Cost Studio Space for Artists. Adams sold his company in 1987 to focus on producing artwork. He has taught at the University of Texas and Hampton University in Virginia, and his art has been featured in national exhibitions and collections.
