Summary
Author and talent coach Harriette Cole was born March 14, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland. She earned her B.A. degree from Howard University in 1983. Cole began her career at Essence Magazine, becoming fashion director and lifestyle editor. She was the editorial director of Uptown magazine; and creative director and, later, editor in chief of Ebony magazine. She also wrote a nationwide advice column "Sense and Sensitivity", which focused on etiquette and relationship management. She was author of several books, including How to Be: A Guide to Living with Grace and Integrity, Jumping the Broom, an African-American wedding planner, and its sequel, Vows. Cole was founder, president and creative director of Harriette Cole Productions, which offers media training services to individuals and institutions. Her clients included Queen Latifah, JoJo, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, and Erykah Badu. She was co-executive producer of a television special about Prince that aired on The Africa Channel. .
