- City administrator Jacquelyne D. Grimshaw was born on May 15, 1942 in Macon, Georgia. In 1965, she earned her B.S. degree in biology from Marquette University. She worked for the Illinois Department of Labor and Personnel. From 1981 to 1984, Grimshaw was employed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a program officer for the Indiana Work Incentive Program and Head Start. After working on his mayoral campaign, Grimshaw joined Chicago Mayor Harold Washington's Office of Intergovernmental Affairs in 1984. In 1986, he named her his top legislative aide. Between 1990 and 1992, she served as deputy city treasurer for economic development. In 1992, Grimshaw worked for the Center for Neighborhood Technology as the vice president for policy, transportation and community development. Grimshaw held numerous affiliations, and received many awards for her achievements and service.
