- Memoirs of a Holocaust survivor, Judith Schneiderman (née Rosenberg), who recounts her childhood in the small town of Rachov in the Carpathian Mountains in prewar Czechoslovakia and Hungary, her internment at the Auschwitz, Gelsenkirchen, and Sömmerda concentration camps winning over the hearts of her guards and their superiors with her beautiful singing voice, and her resettlement in the United States after the war carving out a new life as a farmer's and restaurant owner's wife in Flemington, New Jersey
