- Originally set in Wales, this musical adaptation takes place in and around a tobacco-barn on a small plantation in a remote Southern part of the United States early in the 20th century. There were several African Americans in the cast. Only Ginger Rogers and one supporting actor were members of Actors Equity Association. All other performers were Indiana residents.
