- "Resident Artist Notes : The following photo essay is an interpretation of a poem called the heart and soul of the Harlem Renaissance, "The Dark Tower" by poet Countee Cullen. The young scholars that took part in this project used the poem as a window into the attitudes and desires of the African Diaspora during this time of artistic and intellectual assertion. Our scholars then went on to respond to the poem in the texture of today's Black Voice."--Page [4].
