The collection consists of studio portraits of hospital administrators; group portraits of hospital staff, administrators, political and civic figures, and celebrities; and views of visiting dignitaries, exteriors of hospital buildings, construction projects, ceremonies, press conferences, exhibitions, a health fair, banquets and parties. Depictions of the hospital's health care services are very limited.
  • Of note are views of New York Governor Mario Cuomo's visits to the hospital (1988-early 1990s); views of a press conference for a North General health initiative, "Assignment Good Health," at New York City Hall (1990); a community service awards presentation held at New York University's Robert F. Wagner's Graduate School of Public Service (1992); and views of the planning, construction and moving into North General's new facilities at Madison Avenue and East 121st Street (1989-1991). Among the individuals depicted are Eugene L. McCabe, the founder and President of North General Hospital; Randolph Guggenheimer, Chairman of the Board, North General Hospital
