- Summary
- Publicity photographs of American hip-hop and rap artists during the period from 1983 to 2002, though mainly during the 1990s, consisting primarily of individual and group portraits. Nearly all of artists depicted have only one image; views of artists performing are very limited. Also included are a composite photograph depicting a promotional party for a children's rap album; composite photographs of scenes from two separate rap music videos; and a CD-ROM photo press kit. Some of the artists depicted include A Tribe Called Quest, Big Daddy Kane, Dr. Dre, Ghostface Killah, MC Lyte, and a concert view of Public Enemy.
