- Summary
- Consists of views of the procession for the coffins bearing remains of African slaves being taken to the site of the African Burial Ground, in Lower Manhattan, New York City, in 2004. One image, entitled "A New Day to Mourn," shows two women who are accompanying the remains to the burial ground; the second image, entitled "Overdue II," is a view of the coffins on a horse-drawn wagon, as it passes under the FDR Drive along South Street.

- Leslie Arlette Boyce is a photographer and choreographer, with a background in the visual and performing arts. As an educator, she was a visting professor in the Dance Department at Bard College (1992-2009). Boyce's work of dance and documentary photography includes series on New York City's African Burial Ground (2004) and the neighborhood of Gowanus Bay, Brooklyn (2000-2002), and the dance series "Passion in Motion" and "Motion, and Then Some" (2008).
