- Summary
- Series of studies of African American women, mainly individual women in bedroom settings, a living room setting and an outdoor setting, as well as a portrait of two women who might be twins, and a woman with her male companion on a bed. Most images are composed around the interplay between shadows and limited lighting on the subject. The women seem to project a sense of self-awareness or sensuality; one woman, who is partially topless, appears to have had a mastectomy.
