- Summary
- Candid shots and posed portraits of boxers of African descent consisting of Jamaican-born middleweight Richard Burton and his young son, Richard, Jr.; welterweight Pedro Vilella; light heavyweight Eddie Davis; and boxing trainer Harold Weston, Sr. at the Times Square Gym. Also included are two views of Burton with a group of mentally-challenged people at an unidentified recreation center; and a still life of a black person's right hand clutching some cut daisies (1987).

- Arlene Schulman is a New York City-born documentary photographer, filmmaker and journalist. Her photographic work has included series on boxers; the New York Yankees baseball team; New York City police; street scenes and city life in New York, Philadelphia, Paris, France and portions of Ireland; and landscapes around Niagara Falls and Provincetown, Massachusetts. Schulman's work has appeared in publications such as the New York Times and New York Daily News, and has been published as books, including "The Prizefighters : an Intimate Look at Champions and Contenders" and "23rd Precinct: the Job."
