- Depictions of memorial wall murals and storefronts in Harlem and the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York City, during the late 1990s to the early 2000s, consisting of views of graffiti style outdoor wall murals honoring singer-actress Aaliyah and neighborhood people; two storefront security gates with murals memorializing rapper Tupac Shakur; a cafe with security gates carrying positive message graffiti and a front awning honoring rappers Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G.; and the exteriors of Liberation Bookstore and a burger shop called Willie's. Also included are night shots of Harlem storefronts on 125th Street (1998) and the marquee of the Apollo Theater (1992).

Martin documented black life in both Austin and Harlem, and, as a member of the Kamoinge Workshop, curated photography exhibitions for the Black Photographers Collective during the 1980s.
