Summary
BORO - Nödens konst' handlar om idérikedom sprungen ur brist. Om spår av historia och minnen i lappade och lagade tyger. Den beskriver en japansk textilkultur där minsta tygbit togs till vara och såväl kunskap som kläder gick i arv, generation efter generation. Boken innehåller en fotodokumentation av nyckelföremål ur folkloristen, arkeologen och etnologen Chuzaburo Tanakas (1933-2013) samling. Publikationen behandlar boros textila historia, men även hur boros sociala, ekonomiska och estetiska status med tiden har kommit att förändras. Med Kyoichi Tsuzukis fotodokumentation samt texter av Staffan Appelgren, Petra Holmberg, Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada och Philip Warkander. Exhibition: Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, Stockholm, Sweden.
