Summary
Depictions of the activities of the Boys' Choir of Harlem, during 1980 to 1986, consisting of group portraits showing members of the choir at Lincoln Center (ca. 1983), and with New York City Mayor Edward Koch (ca. 1982-83); candid shots of choir members taking part in activities at summer camp, in Kent, Connecticut (ca. 1980 and 1983), meeting fund raisers at the Church of the Intercession, Harlem (ca. 1982), and celebrating a choir member's birthday; and views of the choir performing in Orange, New Jersey (ca. 1983); and at a Harlem street fair (ca. 1986). Also depicted is choir director Dr. Walter Turnbull.

  • Jane Hoffer is a New York City-based freelance photographer. Having received her BA in Art History from McGill University, Montreal (1968) and her EdD from Teachers College of Columbia University, New York (1975), Hoffer started Jane Hoffer Photography in 1985, specializing in work for not-for-profit organizations and public relations industries. Her clients have included Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, The Boys' Choir of Harlem, Columbia University, and the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs. Hoffer's work includes portraits, dance and music performances, publicity for events, educational activities, and wildlife and landscape photography.
