- Summary
- Depictions of clergy, parishioners, and the rites and ceremonies of the Cape Verdean parish of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, in the neighborhood of Roxbury, Boston, Massachusetts, from 1987 to 1989. The collection consists of candid shots and group portraits of parishioners, children, altar boys and a church worker; and views of religious services, religious processions, baptisms, a First Communion, a Christmas play, a wedding, a choir practice, and the interior of a parishioner's home. Of note are views of the Festa de Nossa Senhora de Fatima (Feast of Our Lady of Fatima) in 1988 and 1989.

- Beverly Conley, born in 194[1], is an American documentary photographer based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Conley's work depicts the lives of various ethnic groups and lower-income people throughout the world, which include Cape Verdeans living in the United States and Fogo Island, Smithfield Market meat workers in London, Oklahoma's Cherokee community, the poor people of Arkansas' Ozark Mountains, and Latino migrant workers in Michigan. Her work has appeared in various news, literary, cultural, and photography publications, and has been exhibited throughout the United States and in London, England.
