- Depictions of the activities and religious sites of Muslims of African descent in the United States, from 1987 to 1989, consisting of candid shots of an imam from Atlanta, Georgia and a homeless Muslim woman in Philadelphia, Penn.; candid shots and views of convention attendees in Indiana; views, mainly of children, during prayer time in an Atlanta mosque; an outdoor gathering in Atlanta during Ramadan; Muslim participants in a march against homelessness in Washington, D.C. (1989); exterior views of mosques and Islamic centers in Georgia and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) headquarters in Plainfield, Indiana; and gravesites in a Muslim cemetery in Lovejoy, Georgia. Of note are views of guests and speakers at the ISNA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana (1988), that include ISNA President Ahmad Zaki Hammad and the Rev. Jesse Jackson.
