Summary
Depictions of clergy, parishioners, and religious services of the Apostolic Spiritual Baptist Church in Barbados in 1988, consisting of candid shots and views of worshipers praying, catching the spirit, bell ringing and singing during services; candid shots and views of clergy, particularly bishops, leading services or participating in a consecration service; individual portraits of church members; and a view of a procession of women. Of note are candid shots and views of Archbishop Granville Williams during a consecration service held at the Jerusalem Church, Ealing Grove, Christ Church parish. The other service is a Friday night service held at Zion Church, Richmond Gap, parish of St. Michael.

Biography (note)
  • Stan Sherer is an American news and documentary photographer based in Northampton, Massachusetts. A professional photographer since 1968, Sherer has worked for both local and national news outlets, been on commission for such publications as Time, the New York Times and the Boston Globe, and was staff photographer for the University of Massachusetts, Amhurst (1985-2003). He has also taught courses on polymer plate printmaking and digital photography since the late 1990s. Sherer's work has been exhibited in New England, New York City and nationally through the Exhibits USA tours.

Biography
Stan Sherer is an American news and documentary photographer based in Northampton, Massachusetts. A professional photographer since 1968, Sherer has worked for both local and national news outlets, been on commission for such publications as Time, the New York Times and the Boston Globe, and was staff photographer for the University of Massachusetts, Amhurst (1985-2003). He has also taught courses on polymer plate printmaking and digital photography since the late 1990s. Sherer's work has been exhibited in New England, New York City and nationally through the Exhibits USA tours.
