Summary
Depictions of nurse Estelle Winbush Banks, and the staff and nursing students of Harlem Hospital, in Harlem, New York, mainly during the late 1920s, consisting of an undated studio portrait of Banks; a candid shot of Marion Pettiford, the Assistant Supervisor of the Visiting Nurse Centre in Harlem (1927); and a series of group portraits and views of doctors, nurses, nursing students, hospital facilities, and ambulances at Harlem Hospital (1929) that are mounted in a photo album. Also included is a group portrait showing Banks, with other nurses, taking part in an unidentified swearing-in ceremony (ca. 1950s). Banks's personal life and her career during the 1930s to the 1950s are not depicted.
