Plummer is depicted mainly in group portraits with Horne.
- Of note are group portraits showing Horne with Plummer and some of his students at Wadleigh High School (1994); views of Horne's performance with Count Basie and his Orchestra at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, England (1979); and views of dancer and actress Chita Rivera performing at The Palladium, London, England (1980). Also included are clippings, playbills, and programs related to Horne's career.

- Biography (note)
- Edouard Elmer Plummer, an educator, was born in 1928 and raised in West Virginia. After attending West Virginia State University in the late 1940s, Plummer joined the military, then later moved to Paris on the G.I. Bill. He eventually moved to New York City and, in 1959, began a 40 year career as a teacher and guidance counselor at Wadleigh Secondary School in Harlem. In 1964, he started the Wadleigh Scholars Program, one of the first initiatives to send minority youths to select preparatory schools. A half-century later, he still administers the program.
- Plummer, self-described as both a devoted fan and personal friend of Lena Horne, started collecting material on Horne in 1942 after seeing her in the film "Panama Hattie." He met her in 1944 through a relative, and they were friends until her death in 2010. He traveled throughout the United States and abroad to see her perform and accompanied her to many events. Plummer met Chita Rivera when she was in dance school, and in the years since he has followed her career and become a personal friend.
