- Summary
- Collection consists of candid shots and views of activities related the house ballroom scene for the series "A Walk in the Park" during the late 1990s, that features underground pageants whose attendees and participants consisted of gay and transgender men and women, mainly Blacks and Latinos. Depicted are balls held at the Marc Ballroom in Manhattan (1997-1998) and at the Harlem YMCA (1998).

- Gerard H. Gaskin, born 1965 in Trinidad and Tobago, is a New York City-based freelance photographer. His work has appeared in such publications as the New York Times, Black Enterprise, Caribbean Beat and DownBeat, and for recording labels including Island, DefJam, Sony and Mercury. His work has been exhibited in New York City, as well as in Amsterdam and Havana; and featured in the books " Inside the L.A. Riots" (1992), "New York: State of Mind" (2000) and "Committed to the Image: Contemporary Black Photographers" (2001).
