- Summary
- Depictions of persons of African descent, primarily in the music business, from 1982 to 1986, consisting of candid shots and views of music figures in concert performances; candid shots and group portraits of individuals at events, including awards presentations, dinners, parties, press conferences, a sports event, a demonstration and a church service; and views of television productions. Other figures consist of actors, religious leaders, and political figures. Included are Whitney Houston, Prince, Janet Jackson, Natalie Cole, Denzel Washington and Jesse Jackson, among others.

- Bryan D. Hall is a freelance photographer who, beginning in the 1980s, was an entertainment photographer for the New York Amsterdam News, working with writer Eugene Gillis. He also covered press conferences, social and political events and sports. Hall is a retired Army Reservist and National Guard veteran who is an advocate for Veterans. He is currently settled in San Antonio, Texas, as a photographer and videographer.
