Summary
Collection consists of individual and group portraits of family members and friends of Isaac Roland Gibson from the 1880s to the 1940s. Some individual portraits, particularly the tintypes and photographic postcards, are studio portraits; most items are candid shots that appear to be taken at home or during social gatherings. Most photographs are unidentified and are undated except for two tintypes (1928), some snapshots (1929, 1932, 1943) and some studio portraits (1946). One family member, Kay Gibson Bethune, is identified; a group portrait, that is separated in two pieces, appears to be a group of Black and White laborers.
