- Summary
- "This book was published on the occasion of three concurrent exhibitions by Richard Serra at Gagosian, New York--Forged Rounds, Reverse Curve, and Triptychs and Diptychs. Housed in a slipcase, this two-volume set documents the presentation of five new sculptures and more than twenty drawings by the artist. Four of the sculptures--all from the artist's Rounds series--are each composed of multiple 50-ton forged-steel elements of differing diameters and heights. The fifth sculpture, Reverse Curve (2005/19), measuring 99 feet long and 13 feet high, was originally conceived in 2005 for a public project in Reggio Emilia, Italy. An essay by Julian Rose provides an in-depth examination of the monolithic nature of Serra's work and its engagement with architecture on its own terms."--Provided by publisher.
