  • Also depicted are an overhead view of neighborhood children playing in an opened fire hydrant on a Harlem street (1948); a view of an elderly Black woman at her window observing the police and fire departments responding to gang activity in Harlem (1963); and a view of two young people, wearing Malcolm X sweatshirts, and an older man at an unidentified gathering in Watts, Los Angeles (1967).
