- Summary
- Laid-back private eye Jake Samson's life has taken a turn. He's living in mellow Marin, his new boss, Rosie Vicente, used to be assistant. This time they're going undercover, infiltrating an ultra-right-wing group to help a young warrior named Royal who wants out. The problem is, the last time someone tried to leave the gang, he didn't make it out alive. Risking their lives to save Royal, Jake and Rosie follow a beer-hall trail of convoluted connections, bizarre secrets and outright lunacy. When another member dies and the gang begins to suspect Royal, Jake and Rosie are ringers, and our heroes have to scramble to stay one step ahead of the raving, violent -- and terminally incompetent -- leaders of the gang, who seem more bent on offing each other than on world domination.
