- Five letters authored by major figures in 20th-century American musical theatre, containing observations on the authors' lives, professional activities, and relationships in the theatre community. They are as follows: Fanny Brice to Charles Frohman, TLS, November 16, 1926, regarding a recent social invitation, her current health, and thanking him for a special gift. Frank Loesser to Ray Bolger, ALS with envelope, March 15, 1949, expressing great admiration for Bolger's release of a recording of the song "Once in Love with Amy" from Loesser's Broadway musical "Where's Charley." Irving Berlin to Harry Ruby, TLS, June 4, 1969, commenting on a legal matter and including a short poem written to the recipient. Irving Berlin to Garson Kanin, TLS, April 6, 1970, regarding an encounter with Katharine Hepburn and his view of her performances. Richard Rodgers to Constance Carpenter, TLS, May 6, 1975, thanking Carpenter for a souvenir program she gave him.
