- Mit jeweils eigenen Themenschwerpunkten, darunter Religion, Erinnerungsorte, Historiographie und Pazifizierung, setzen sich die Beiträge des vorliegenden Bandes mit der Geschichte und den Nachwirkungen der Kolonialisierung Kameruns durch das Deutsche Reich von 1884 bis 1919 auseinander. Die Beiträgerinnen und Beiträger machen sich zur Aufgabe, die Geschichte der Beziehung Kameruns und Deutschlands neu aufzuarbeiten - auch um der kolonialen Amnesie in Europa entgegenzuwirken.
- With individual thematic focuses, including religion, places of remembrance, historiography and pacification, the contributions to this volume deal with the history and aftermath of the colonization of Cameroon by the German Empire from 1884 to 1919. The contributors set themselves the task of reappraising the history of the relationship between Cameroon and Germany--not least in order to counteract colonial amnesia in Europe.
