Summary
The systematic, deep and exhaustive research developed by the intellectual Alejandro G. Alonso (1935-2017), founder of The National Museum of Contemporary Cuban Ceramics, is presented in this catalog of collection. The history of the museum, its events, important national and international exhibitions, and, as may be supposed, of some of its pieces are related in it with the author's distinctive sensibility. The oldest pieces and those that show the continuation of the art form have been included, as well as the consequent museological project in the last decade of the 21st century. The catalog thus contributes to a correct judgment of value about each one of representative artworks of the artists who are part of the institution's permanent collection. The vessels, tiles, murals, sculptures, and installations in the museum respond to very well-defined museological and curatorial premises.
