  • "[My mother] carefully kept the many wonderful photographs that were collected by the Levesque and Dénéchaud sides of her family, as well as some equally interesting images from the Snow side. She made many notes about the identities of the people who were photographed, and documented the date, the location, and the circumstances of the photograph. These photographs are so beautiful and so historical that I wish to share them with others." -- p. 6.
  • "Michael Snow has ordered his mother's photographs according to two motivating forces: not genealogy nor chronology, both of which he leaves to her. Rather, he concentrates on structure and feeling, allowing the pictures to wind around his mother's identity..." -- p. 314.
