Summary

The present text contains and highlights the muralist works created for educational and public spaces. The murals and the large-format work allow the university community and society in general, to appreciate plastic conceptions and identify the messages and meanings that the creators have captured to enrich the myths, history, the symbols of the multiple knowledges and their desire for an environment of harmonious coexistence between nature, man and his history. In the Universidad Veracruzana, before and after its foundation in 1944, the expressions of muralism found spaces for its reproduction. The originality of them was very much coincident with the muralist movement. However, the plastic work presented in this book reveals a stylistic with its own features that exalts the environment of Veracruz, its men, its identity, its nature, its customs and the history of the "small homeland". In addition, the large-format plastic work that houses our House of Studies is distinguished, as elsewhere, by representing, signifying and exalting the various disciplines and knowledge that it cultivates and that are expressed in its motto and shield: "Arte, Ciencia, Luz" (Art, Science, Light).
