Martha Graham discusses her childhood in Santa Barbara and her favorite park in the city, working with Isamu Noguchi, attending an art museum with Louis Horst, receiving a direct message from Germany at the consulate during WWII regarding a previous performance and requesting another appearance which she denied (approximately 26 min.) -- File 2 (side B). Begins with planning the organization of the information from these recordings and mentions her written notes as well, discusses her father's search for the truth and his career, her understanding of the need for artistic expression, that she knows almost nothing about her father's side of the family, remembers her sister Georgia learning to walk by holding onto the family St. Bernard dog, her fear of snakes and a few experiences with elephants, camping in the American Southwest with her ex-husband Erick Hawkins (approximately 32 minutes).
