Summary
"Memory and Emotion: (Basque) Women's Stories is a multidisciplinary quest for the individual and social dimensions of memory and gender through the exploration into the relationship between discourse, emotion, and (cultural) identity. The book includes contributions by researchers that deal with emotions at the core of their scholarly queries. The articles of these scholars address topics such as conflict and memory, emotion and adaptation, memory and exile, collective memory, cultural identity, cultural trauma, emotions and censorship, repressed memory, or autobiography (and other forms of personal narratives) as means to retell stories. The Basque backdrop acts as a significant metaphor in all the articles (except one), but constant intercultural and transnational references are made through every contribution"--
