- Summary
- This book vindicates the figures of Le Corbusier, Josep Lluís Sert and Paul Lester Wiener in the construction plans of the city of Bogotá. The impact that these architects had on the development and implementation of social and urban paradigms in the city is not minor, despite what has been believed in the country's academy. Accompanied by rich graphic material, this book presents a detailed analysis of the historical panorama of two especially significant episodes in the construction of the city and in the development ideas derived from it: the Pilot and Regulatory plans (1949-1953). These projects delimited the urban zoning in Bogotá, the road system, the construction regimes, the planning of public housing, among other elements. Thus, the reader will find in this carefully edited book extensive documentation of these urban plans, which is recovered with serious archival work and the rigorous search of Doris Tarchópulos.
