Summary

The catalogue is an exhaustive review and investigation of all the pieces that make up the Mapuche Silverware Collection of the MAPA. In 1946 the Universidad de Chile acquired the collection formed by Pedro Doyharcabal and which today is part of the holdings of the Museo de Arte Popular Americano Tomás Lago. "The close to 230 pieces, whose origin and elaboration dates back to the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, comprise part of the most representative typologies of this art of the Mapuches: trarülongko, shikill, trapelakucha, chaway and also little-known pieces such as the kitra and payuntuwe.
