- Summary
- Tamara Tunie, actor and producer, discusses her career with journalist David Gordon. She describes her early interest in performing, her drama studies at Carnegie-Mellon University, and her Broadway debut as a background singer for Lena Horne, in Lena Horne: the lady and her music. She discusses her decision to focus on non-musical theater, and her career in television, in shows such as As the world turns and Law & order: Special Victims Unit. Tunie also speaks of her work as a founding member of Black Theatre United, an organization dedicated to the support and nurturing of African American theater.
